AYURVEDA PANCHAKARMA

Ayurveda Panchakarma Unveiled.

Panchakarma is the Ayurvedic art of inner cleansing, a five-step journey to purify your body. These five treatments help expel toxins and pathogens accumulated from an array of sources, such as unwholesome lifestyle habits, improper dietary choices, illnesses, and environmental pollutants. The complete panchakarma therapy is a comprehensive regimen involving three stages: Poorvakarma, Pradhana karma, and Paschat karma.
Poorvakarma: The Prelude to Purification.

The Panchakarma journey begins with preparation, setting the stage for efficiently releasing toxins. This preparatory stage employs Snehana (Oleation therapy) and Swedana (Fomentation therapy) to mobilize and extract deep-rooted toxins, preparing for their subsequent and effective elimination.

Pradhanakarma: The Core Ayurvedic Detox.

At the heart of Panchakarma therapy are five detoxifying treatments. These include Vamana (Therapeutic Emesis), Virechana (Therapeutic Purgation), Nasya (Nasal Medication), Sneha Vasthi (Unctuous enema), and Kashya Vashti (Therapeutic decoction enema). Each treatment is carefully chosen based on your Prakriti, dosha imbalance, external environment, and individual health requirements.

Paschat Karma: Post-Purification Regime

The journey does not end with the cleansing; the post-purification stage is equally crucial. This stage focuses on reviving and strengthening your digestive and absorptive capabilities through a specialized diet regimen. With our exclusive Ayurvedic wellness cuisine designed around your dosha and specific treatments, we facilitate a swift and smooth healing process, paving the way for your holistic wellness.

Frequently Asked Questions

The five classical karmas include Vamana (therapeutic emesis), Virechana (therapeutic purgation), Basti (medicated herbal enemas — Anuvasana and Niruha), Nasya (nasal administration of herbal oils), and Raktamokshana (blood purification where clinically indicated). Each procedure is chosen strictly based on individual medical assessment by our Ayurvedic doctors.

Purvakarma is the preparatory phase that loosens deep-seated toxins (Ama) and directs them to the digestive tract for elimination. It includes Snehana (internal oleation with medicated ghee and external herbal oil therapies like Abhyanga) and Swedana (therapeutic herbal steam and fomentation). Panchakarma is never performed without proper Purvakarma.

Paschatkarma is the critical rehabilitation stage following cleansing. It includes Samsarjana Krama (a gradual transition from light gruels to normal nourishing meals), restorative Rasayana herbal tonics, and lifestyle guidance to rebuild Agni (digestive fire) and cellular immunity.

A traditional Panchakarma requires a minimum of 14 to 21 days (and up to 28 days for chronic conditions) to allow sufficient time for preparation (Purvakarma), active elimination (Pradhanakarma), and rejuvenation (Paschatkarma).

Panchakarma is an intensive therapeutic process and is not given indiscriminately. Very frail individuals, pregnant women, or those in acute fever or post-surgery stages receive gentler Shamana (pacifying) therapies, nourishing Abhyanga, and restorative diet instead.

Food is strictly regulated according to the cleansing stage. During active elimination days, light, easily digestible warm vegetarian foods like Peya (rice water) and Kitchari are served, followed by gradual re-introduction of normal wholesome Ayurvedic meals.
